HP Precalc - Chapter 5 Review Key

Here ya go. As awlays, find an error, get extra credit.

Looks like I didn't quite finish the last problem (sorry), but I got you far enough. You get the idea...

Also, a couple of you have requested the formulas powerpoint. While this isn't the focus of the test, you may want to look it over.

for #3 wouldn't (1/cos²x)-(sin²x/cos²x)=1 since there is a 1-sin²x which is equal to cos²x, so there whould be cos²x/cos²x which equals one?

"As awlays, find an error, get extra credit."

It's always, not awlays.

I expect my extra credit.

hey mr. thompson, i think for # 34 and #36, you got the adjacent wrong. I think its supposed to be square root of 85 instead of square root of 65. hopefully i'm right =D

So on numbers 34-36 I didn't get the square root of 65. I got the square root of 85. because 121-36=85. So maybe I am wrong I dont know though. Just wondering.

Ok not sure if that last comment went through. But on numbers 34-36 I didnt get the square root of 65. I got the square root of 85. Because 121-36=85 which leaves you with the square root of 85. Is that right?

on number 4, is tan2x or
2tanx/1-tan(squared)x
simplified?

#44 doesn't sin=1 at pi/2 and
-1 at 3pi/2 as opposed to
plus or minus root 2 over 2?
